    In one of the fablehaven books there was a cat monster that had nine lives. It started as a regular black cat, but everytime they killed it it got more monsterous until its ninth life when it was a giant panther, with wings, twelve snakes coming out of its shoulders, three tails, three heads, and it could spit acid.
