For January let's talk about movie adaptations of books! Pick a good book that was turned into a great movie, a good book that was turned into a horrible movie, a bad book that worked well on the screen, or an execrable book that was an even worse movie! So many possibilities!!!

I have read Eragon and that was turned into a movie. I liked it, but it left out a lot of details and didn't quite follow the book. I like it anyway, but I liked the book better because of the details.
ReplyDeleteI'm going old school. "Deliverance" was a pretty good book that was made into a great movie. The movie was darker than the book, but the screenplay was written by the book's author, James Dickey. He knew how he wanted to adapt it for the screen and did a great job.

ReplyDeleteMy favorite book was Percy Jackson and the Olympians. I thought that the movie was about the same, but a little worse. They changed the storyline a lot in the movie, which made it different and new. It also brought images that I thought were great to see. The books are almost always better though, it leaves more to the imagination.
I don't know if I'm allowed to say Twilight or not but it's the only one I've got. The last 2 movies I think they just didn't get the book in it, especially the last one. I remember reading it over & over again getting excited for the movie but I wasn't wowed by it. I expected a lot more.
ReplyDeleteThe Haunted Mask by R.L. Stine's. One of the classic goosebump books. They made it into a movie and personally I enjoyed it. Of the course the books are always better, but I thought the movie was pretty good.
ReplyDeleteI just read and watched the Book Thief. I enjoyed the book a lot more then the movie. I feel they left a lot out of the movie. The movie its self was good, but having just read the book I was expecting a lot more out of it.
ReplyDeleteThe movie Eragon was pretty good i liked it they kinda stook to the book, but over all the book was a lot better than the movie
